Job description

We’re currently looking for a Merchandiser to assist the Level 2 Merchandiser within our busy Supply Chain team here at Findel Education. We’re the one-stop-shop for educational supplies, providing all of the products schools and nurseries need, delivered when they want them, at highly competitive prices.

The Role:

Reporting to a Level 2 Merchandiser and with their support and guidance, you’ll be responsible for:

o Placing orders on the system in line with agreed levels

o Ensuring stock is delivered on time for new product launch

o Mitigating excess stock & making informed recommendations

o Contributing fully to range planning and selection

o Assisting in planning and placing of strategic buys

o Maintaining and recommending improvements for MOQ’s and MOV’s, ensuring any issues are kept to a minimum

o Identify and recommend SKU rationalisation opportunities

o Working within the advised intake plan, ensuring the critical path is adhered to

o Maintaining all forms for authorization to complete within agreed lead-times

o Facilitating data changes relating to SKU management

o Producing weekly and monthly reports as required

o Working closely with the warehouse to ensure all deliveries from suppliers are in line with the intake plan and meet the Goods in criteria

o Monitoring forecasts v actual order quantities placed and suggesting adjustments

o Resolving queries (eg. invoices, customers, warehouse, non-conformance)

Your Skills and Experience:

o Ideally some knowledge of merchandising skills, however this role would also suit a recent graduate with a relevant degree and an interest in this area.

o Commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

o Strong MS Office skills, able to use pivots and Vlookups in Excel.

o Great communicator, confident in building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

o Able to deliver excellent customer service.

o Able to work as part of a team, as well as use own initiative.

o Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.

Full-time (36.5 hours per week), permanent role.
