We have an exciting opportunity within our Merchandising Team here at Findel for Assistant Merchandiser.
Reporting to the Merchandising Manager, you will play a key part in maintaining high service levels by proactively chasing outstanding orders, resolving invoice queries, and supporting the achievement of sales and pipeline targets. The role involves identifying and escalating any product, delivery, or supply chain issues, as well as keeping forecasts aligned with marketing activity. With great communication skills, you’ll enjoy working with a variety of stakeholders from across the business.
Your Role:
Some of the responsibilities of these great opportunities include:
• Proactively chase suppliers for any outstanding actions, deliveries, and credits.
• Maintain regular contact with suppliers to ensure timely updates on orders and issues.
• Investigate and resolve all invoice queries (excluding price-related issues) promptly and efficiently.
• Escalate unresolved or recurring issues to the Merchandising Manager and relevant Buying Owner.
• Achieve and maintain a minimum service level of 95% across the supply base.
• Manage and maintain the open order book accurately and consistently.
• Ensure maximum sales potential is achieved by expediting invoices into the business and meeting monthly pipeline targets.
• Understand departmental pipeline targets and contribute effectively towards achieving them.
• Identify, track, and report any product-related problems, including issues with quality, late deliveries, materials, or manufacturing.
• Stay informed of all marketing activity to keep forecasts accurate and aligned.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure they are aware of marketing initiatives that may impact production or stock levels.
• Build and maintain effective, professional working relationships with the supply base, including conducting regular performance reviews.
• Action vendor and buying disc forms liaising with customer operations.
About You:
We’re ideally looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
• Broad knowledge of computer systems, minimum of intermediate Excel skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Able to work with enthusiasm and confidence.
• Team player who works in partnership with others, shares information, knowledge & experience.
• Build sound working relationships with internal departments and stakeholders.
• Demonstrates broad business thinking and sound commercial judgement.
• Ensures all activities and decisions make life better for customers.
• Thinks ahead to identify and anticipate potential opportunities and threats.
• Able to work independently; plan own time, multi-task and prioritise effectively.
• Challenged by a fast-paced role with a high interruption level; able to cope well under pressure.
