Marketing Manager - Schools

Are you looking to develop your career? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Marketing Manager to join our team. Responsible for the design and delivery of a brand-focused marketing programme for schools, you will focus on retaining the brand’s existing customer base, winning back lost customers, and looking for innovative ways to drive growth.

A strong emphasis is on understanding and staying close to the market, target audience and regional requirements, whilst championing the customer and their wants & needs at every opportunity. A fundamental part of the position is to evaluate all activity to ensure the appropriate ROI and profitable demand generation.

Great communication and project management skills are pivotal to this role; you must be confident in building strong relationships across the business and with external stakeholders and partners.

Your Role:

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, some of the responsibilities of this exciting opportunity include:

• Lead (where appropriate) and support business unit growth to drive an improved brand market share %, ensuring clear growth objectives are aligned with demand expectations.

• Deliver best in class insight led marketing activity which contributes to growth of the aggregate UK and global customer base and associated customer value, scoping this from concept to delivery and through alignment across multiple teams, ensuring we choose the best marketing mix for activation.

• Devise and implement the customer engagement plan alongside growth ambition and key KPI metrics. Communicate the customer engagement plan across the business focusing on gaining buy-in and support.

• Work with the Insight team to define termly targeting strategies, undertake post campaign analysis and implement recommendations for future activities.

• Accountable for full campaign management, inclusive of brand objectives, campaign briefing, test & learn evaluation.

• Build a collaborative working approach across central functions to deliver against business growth ambitions, including:

    o Buying & Merchandising - alignment of range strategy.

    o Business Intelligence - increased customer engagement/grow SOW.

    o Creative - clear brand vision across all comms.

    o Finance - commercially driven plans/business models.

    o Sales / CX - alignment of trading plans that drive brand differentiation.

• Manage a number of key brand relationships with third parties and industry influencers; ultimately seeking commercial opportunity and brand awareness.

• Continual Improvement: implement agreed new approaches (Test & Learn) and share learnings across the team including suggestions for alternative approaches.

• Contribute to a winning team mindset maintaining a solution-focussed approach in everything we do.

About You:

We are ideally looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Degree level or CIM qualification.

• Previous experience in a marketing role, ideally within the education sector although this is not essential.

• Relevant experience 4 years+ preferably including a mix of traditional and non-traditional marketing.

• Experience of CRM and campaign planning.

• Experience of budget management and tracking.

• Great communicator, confident in building strong relationships with stakeholders.

• Strong project management skills.

• Demonstrate passion for the customer.

• Creative, high energy, innovative, proactive and resourceful.

• Driven, with the ability to work under own initiative, with an eye for detail.

• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
