Web Merchandiser
Hyde
Job description
We’re Hiring: Web Merchandiser (Based in Hyde (Greater Manchester); optimise, enhance and elevate our digital product experience)
Join our team as a Web Merchandiser with responsibility for digital product performance across our portfolio of websites. Sitting within the UX team and reporting to the Head of UX Development, you will ensure that product data, content and imagery are structured to maximise discoverability, conversion and commercial return.
Working in close partnership with the Buying team (who define product truth and commercial intent), this role translates product attributes, differentiation and stock strategy into high-performing digital presentation across site, search and paid channels.
What You’ll Do
• AI-Driven Content Creation: Utilise in-house AI technology to rewrite and optimise product descriptions at scale, ensuring they are engaging, accurate, and aligned with the Findel brands.
• Visual Asset Enhancement: Leverage AI image generation and editing tools to create high-quality, UX-compliant product imagery that fills gaps in manufacturer data and improves site aesthetics.
• SEO & Google Alignment: Continuously monitor Google Search algorithm updates (such as E-E-A-T and Product Review updates) to ensure all PDPs are optimised for maximum organic visibility.
• CRO Collaboration: Support the UX and CRO team by implementing A/B test variants on product pages and identifying friction points in the product discovery journey.
• Master Feed Optimisation: Take external ownership of the Master Product Feed, ensuring data is clean, structured, and enriched for all outbound channels (Google Shopping, Social). You will map attributes, resolve feed errors, and use "custom labels" to improve how our products are segmented and promoted.
• Collaborate closely with the Buying team to translate supplier specifications and educational attributes into structured, SEO-optimised product data; define and enrich attribute taxonomy required for on-site filtering, Google Shopping and Social feeds; establish a clear product sign-off workflow.
• You’ll also work closely with Marketing & Performance to ensure feed architecture supports PPC segmentation and POAS bidding; align product content with campaign messaging; support social and paid activation with enriched data.
What You’ll Bring
Essential criteria:
• 1+ years of experience in Digital Merchandising, eCommerce, or a similar product-focused role.
• AI Literacy: Genuine interest for AI tools (e.g., Gemini, Co-Pilot, ChatGPT, or proprietary tools) and an understanding of how to prompt for high-quality outputs avoiding where possible any hallucinations.
• SEO Knowledge: A basic understanding of SEO fundamentals, particularly regarding Google’s ranking factors.
• Analytical Mindset: Comfortable using tools such as Google Analytics (GA4) or similar tools to track performance and make data-led decisions.
Desirable criteria:
• Experience with CMS platforms and on-site search.
• Knowledge of the Education sector or B2B eCommerce.
• Experience with A/B testing tools (e.g., VWO).
