Accounts Payable Assistant

Are you ready to play a crucial role in a fast-paced finance team? Findel Education is looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our team, working with colleagues across our business units to ensure seamless financial operations. The role is part time Monday- Friday 20 hours per week- potential shift pattern: 9am/9.30am till 1pm/1.30pm, on a fixed term contract for 6 months.
Reporting to the Account Payable Manager, you’ll be responsible for the smooth processing of our financial transactions and building strong relationships across departments. As an AP Assistant, you’ll work alongside experienced AP professionals, gain hands-on experience in managing payments, processing invoices, and troubleshooting with suppliers. If you’re detail-oriented, love working with numbers, and have a keen interest in understanding how businesses runs, this could be your perfect start! We’re here to guide you as you build the skills and confidence to excel in finance.
Your Role:
• Distribute and manage incoming correspondence from email, post and downloads
• Process invoices and credits within agreed SLA’s for stock, DD and overhead
• Bar code every invoice/credit or attach manually
• Liaise with key contacts to resolve queries in a timely manner
• Invoices processed accurately within SLA requirements
• All transactions supported by scanned images or documented approvals
About You:
We are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:
• Microsoft office specifically Excel and Outlook
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Planning and organising
• High attention to detail in data entry
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Capable of working under pressure
• Effectively prioritise responsibilities and tasks
• Ability to be able to work well with the accounts payable team and other business units
