Senior Infrastructure Engineer

We have a fantastic opportunity within our Technology Team for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join us here at Findel.

Reporting to the Tech Infrastructure Manager, this role will provide second- and third-line support to the business for technology related hardware and software issues. A large proportion of this role will also involve project management with a 60/40 split for support.

As part of your day to day you will:

• Support and manage the Corporate VMWare Estate including Windows Domain Controllers, Active Directory, File and Print Servers, Application Servers, and Storage Area Network. Azure Active Directory and Office365/Intune Management

• Provide a consultative approach to assist in the technical infrastructure design and specification of new systems, ensuring correct levels of performance, resilience, security, and cost effectiveness.

• Provide top level technical escalation for problems and issues.

• Participate in the “on-call” rota system, being available as the first point of contact and resolution for infrastructure issues that arise outside normal business hours.

• Manage implementation of new or amended technical infrastructures with minimal disruption to existing business.

• Develop, document, make recommendations, and communicate plans for investing in IT infrastructure, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.

• Maintain technology security & business continuity plans.

• Ensure technology documentation is present and kept up to date.

The following skill set would be required to meet the needs of this role:

• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Client and Server Operating Systems and Applications.

• Windows Client Builds and roll outs.

• Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

• Ability to use scripting to automate administration tasks including Visual Basic and PowerShell.

• Excellent working knowledge of VMware with relevant experience in supporting a production environment.

• Experience in enterprise systems implementation.

• Experience of working in a client/server architecture environment (Microsoft), including network design, data centre, server and storage, and operations.

• Experience of administering Office 365 including EOL, Yammer, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint, Teams etc.

• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Client Operating Systems Including Windows 7, 8, 8.1 & 10

• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Server 2003, 2008, 2013, 2016 & 2019 – ADUC, Sites & Services, ADSI Edit, GPO, ADMT.

• Experience of SCCM/Intune Management.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

There will be a requirement to work a variety of hours and on occasion from different sites in line with business needs. A full UK Driving License will be required.
