We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, technical SEO professional to grow and develop in a fast-paced marketing environment. As a vital part of our marketing team, you will work alongside talented and experienced individuals across the entire range of communication channels.

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you will manage all the technical aspects of our websites that can be optimised to improve their ranking and visibility across search engine results pages including organic shopping. Specific areas that will need to be managed include indexing, rendering, and architecture with the primary goal of making our websites faster and easier for web crawlers to find and understand.

While keywords and content are often seen as the biggest piece of the SEO puzzle, there are other factors—like page loading times, lazy loading, comments sections, HTML tags, metadata and microdata that also have an impact on SEO and we envisage this role having responsibility for each of these across our portfolio of brands.

Your Role:

Some of the responsibilities of this great opportunity include:

• Responsibility for owning the SEO activity and delivering against traffic and revenue targets.

• Carrying out regular audits of SEO activity to identify further areas of improvement and to inform long term strategy. E.g. Technical site review, backlink audits, ranking reports, and core web vital performance.

• Responsibility for ensuring all on-page and off-page SEO work is carried out in line with SEO best practice and that the necessary processes are implemented to support this.

• Owning the briefing and reporting of all technical aspect of site SEO, working alongside the internal development team to deliver best in class product including schema, site taxonomy, management of the XML sitemaps and optimisation of site architecture.

• Work alongside the design and content teams to identify and brief suitable content to ensure SEO success across a range of web platforms whilst managing limited duplicate content.

• Ensure the sites are best places to maximise visibility in organic shopping rankings as well as text-based auctions.

• Ensuring compliance and efficiency with the latest SEO guidelines and algorithm updates – largely across Google and Bing but with understanding of other search engines as required.

• Liaising with key stakeholders in the Brand teams to ensure content is being developed with keyword research and competitor insight in mind.

• Ensuring that all reporting and analysis is focussed on creating actionable insights for both the wider marketing team and senior management.

• Executing all search activity in line with key customer personas as well as brand guidelines and tone of voice.

• Being a key relationship holder with SEO suppliers such as tool providers and agencies.

• Supporting the CMO in educating the wider business on the importance of SEO for driving growth

• Working with the paid-search team to ensure that the overall search strategy and approach is aligned across disciplines.

About You:

We’re ideally looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• A degree or equivalent qualification (ideally in software development, marketing or a business discipline)

• At least 5 years’ experience of providing SEO to large, technically complex eCommerce focussed websites

• A good understanding of how SEO partners with digital marketing channels including paid, email and social (work experience in a cross functional team essential) and in working alongside technical development teams

• Experience of tools such as Google Analytics 4, Search Console and either SEMRush or AHrefs platforms

• Demonstrable ability to manage projects and work as part of a wider digital a team

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a range of audiences inc C-Suite members

• Strong data analysis skills and a confident Google and Microsoft reporting platforms user

• A demonstrable process and detail driven work ethic
